American Cider Association
The American Cider Association is an organization of cider and perry producers in the United States. Their mission is to grow a diverse and successful U.S. cider industry by providing valuable information, resources, and services to their members and by advocating on their behalf. Memberships range from $250 for independant retailers up to $3,000 for large cider producers.
The Certified Cider Professional Program is the ACA’s first and foremost cider education program built to provide food and beverage professionals and enthusiasts worldwide with the knowledge and skills to understand and share the joy and nuance of cider.
This program currently boasts two distinct levels of certification. Certified Cider Guide (CCG) is the first level of certification designed as a fundamental course and is a prerequisite for the second certificaion level. Certified Pommelier (CP) is the second level and is a more advanced certification that covers more in depth cider knowledge, and includes a blind sensory evaluation.
Level 1 CCG certifications can be attained using our virtual on demand materials or by attending sanctioned certification events, while the Level 2 CP certification can only be attained at in person sanctioned exams. There are currently 97 Certified Pommerlier and 2,480 Certified Cider Guides in the world.
