Eight Beer Styles For Your Menu or Shop

A no-cost palate cleanser.

Whether you’re pulling together a list for your wine-heavy restaurant or trying to bring in a few styles for a cooler door, here is a simple eight styles list that is sure to earn you the respect you deserve.

If you look at this list and still feel overwhelmed, let us help you. Fill out the contact form on the home page, telling us your troubles, even if it’s something like, “I own a liquor store in the Clevland area and could use your help with a couple of cooler doors! We have a lot of distributors already, so I don’t want to add another one.” OR “I run a bistro in NY City and know nothing about beer. We have some of the best mixologists in the city and our wine list is well respected, but my beer list falls short.” We won’t judge you - we want to help!

If you have fish on your menu, you should have a Belgian Witbier, Blond, or Pale, as their spice character will cut through the richness of the fish and elevate the other flavors of the dish, to an entirely different level. Their quentisential dry finish will help with the overall pairing. You can not and should not be operating a restaurant in 2024 without a hop-forward option (likely some variation of a New England style), a Pilsner or Lager, and a Sour Beer or Cider. You just have to trust us on this one. Also, get a single Non-Alcoholic option, while you are at it.

We understand that some restaurants do not have draft systems, and therefore operate on bottle and can only menus - that’s okay, too. If you have specific packaging requirments or want to stay local versus international (although we don’t recommend this), we’ll write a list or menu for you. Just provide us with as much information as possible, like your preferred distributors, a copy of your menu, or how large your cooler door is.
